Archives — as records — wield power over the shape and direction of historical scholarship and collective memory, and the role of Brisbane Girls Grammar School Archives is to use these resources to link the contributions of past students to the world, and to maintain traditions which have kept the School community together for the past 140 years.

Mr Paul Martineau looks at how service travel programmes such as Antipodeans Abroad can provide our students with the opportunity to develop holistically and begin to engage ethically with the world outside of their normal comfort zones. ‘Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.’ (Miriam Beard)
